The Department of Student Health & Counseling promotes students’ optimal health, well-being, and development through the provision of high quality, integrated and holistic health services. Staffed by caring professionals, Health & Counseling offers primary health care, psychological counseling, sexual health services, and health promotion services to SUNY Geneseo students, as well as consultation, prevention, and training programs to the Geneseo community. We strive to advance the missions of the College and Division of Student and Campus Life through empowering students to be active partners in their health care, providing education and resources to foster healthy decision making and supporting students in the pursuit of their academic goals. We are seeking a Director of Counseling Services to join our community of providers.
The primary responsibilities of the Director of Counseling Services are to oversee the day to day functionality of Counseling Services, coordinate clinical aspects of Counseling services, and provide direct psychological services to the students at SUNY Geneseo.
The Director of Counseling Services is a professional position in the SUNY Geneseo Division of Student and Campus Life. As such, the Director for Counseling Services is expected to fulfill specific responsibilities in a way that demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the articulated mission and goals of Student Health and Counseling and the division, and the division’s Standards for Professional Practice. The Director is also expected to adhere to the legal and ethical standards of New York State, the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and all other relevant professional standards.
