Equipped with more than 50 hours of training, undergraduate Advising Fellows provide
the information, guidance, and support that these high school students need to apply

Matriculate seeks a strong candidate to serve as a Program Associate, Advising
Fellow Experience & Impact. The associate will oversee the delivery and implementation of the
Advising Fellowship program model across a selection of Advising Fellowships. The role
requires a significant focus on operational and strategic management of Advising
Fellows (AFs) and Head Advising Fellows (HAFs) at assigned
fellowships to ensure they provide outstanding support to High School Fellows
(HSFs) whose goal is to enroll in a best-fit college of their choice.

Program Associates report to a Program Manager on the Advising Fellowship
Experience and Impact team, though the associate will also have many
opportunities to collaborate closely with other team members throughout the

This role will ensure sound delivery and implementation of the Advising
Fellowships model through close collaboration with other team members and
frequent interactions with all levels of the Advising Fellowship, High School
Fellowship, and internal staff.
Ensure college Advising Fellows (AFs) are consistently equipped with the
content knowledge and advising skills necessary to drive impact, or yield the
best outcomes for the high-achieving, low-income high school students with
which they are paired.
Assume responsibility for ensuring Matriculate’s High School Fellows regularly
connect with Advising Fellows and achieve college application and enrollment
Ensure retention of Advising Fellows through effective engagement and
community building approaches within their fellowship, and where possible
The following section is a list of typical responsibilities that will lead to success
in this role. Note that this is not an exhaustive list and some activities may
develop in response to the needs of our Advising Fellows, High School Fellows,
or organizational goals.
•Monitor consistency and quality of advising sessions between Advising
Fellows and their High School Fellows in order to achieve program
•Monitor the progress of High School Fellows toward program
milestones using qualitative and quantitative data from student and
advisor surveys, advisor deliverables, and in-person check-ins with
•Track engagement of Advising Fellows in all areas of fellowship
programming including training, meetings, and deliverables to ensure
high retention and a positive experience
Recruitment and Training
•Support the recruitment of a high-quality team of student leaders and
Advising Fellows at assigned fellowships in collaboration with
Matriculate Recruitment and Training team
•Support the onboarding and training of Advising Fellows by facilitating
assigned training modules, advising certification, and consulting on the
development of training content as needed
•Assist with the development of a leadership pipeline within each
Program Delivery & Implementation
• Coach, support and manage Fellowship Leadership Teams by providing
weekly supervision and feedback about their implementation of leadership training;
approach to engaging fellows; and providing
support to AFs
•Consult on the development of internal strategies and measurement
tools that help direct and monitor progress toward goals
•Ensure data collection processes are completed and actively
monitored in operating systems and databases as necessary to track
HSF outcomes and advisor engagement and impact
•Monitor quality of High School Fellow and Advising Fellow experiences;
devise and implement strategies to ensure retention and outcomes in
collaboration with team leads.

The ideal candidate will have:
• A deep commitment to Matriculate’s mission and organizational values
• A bachelor’s degree from a 4-year institution
• At least 1 year of experience with demonstrated success ideally in:
• Youth development
• Education-focused programming
• Project management
• Some program implementation background, including use of mixed data
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including public
speaking (for training and meeting facilitation)
• Strong attention to detail to support effective project execution
• Ability to build, strengthen, and leverage relationships to ensure a
strong sense of community and collective impact
• The ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people and in an
often virtual, remote setting initiative in problem solving, commitment to
continuous learning and reflecting on their work
• Interest in working and contributing to continuous improvement and innovation
in a fast-paced, startup environment
• Familiarity using various remote communication applications including
Zoom, Google Hangout, and Skype
• Strong command of Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel,
PowerPoint; experience with Google Suite and Salesforce a plus
• Willingness to travel domestically potentially up to 25%
• Ability to work on pre-scheduled work evenings and weekends as necessary
