Successful candidate will work closely with the Board’s staff Photographer to provide both current and archival imagery to support a wide variety of Board projects. These projects will include not only taking photographs on site at the Federal Reserve, but also could include photographing staff on Capitol Hill and other locations around Washington, D.C. Typical types of photography include formal and non-formal portraiture, group photos, facilities and architectural photography, stock photography and coverage of various meetings and gatherings.
In addition to taking photographs, the Board’s photography program maintains and provides imagery from an extensive database of images taken at the Board in the past. The photo program also provides ancillary services such as printing fine-art and official photographs, assisting the Board’s Digital Media Services and supporting the Fine-Arts program.
The photography program is operated from an expansive, newly constructed photo studio located in the Board’s Martin Building.
Competencies and Learning Objectives:
The successful candidate should have a good grasp of basic photographic principles, understand the dynamics of basic studio lighting, and be comfortable working in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
Working to obtain a degree in Photography or related field of study.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Familiarity with photographic equipment such as cameras and lenses, lighting equipment types, and studio grip. Familiarity with photographic work flow and processes using both digital and analog methods of capture.
Familiarity with Apple Mac computers and operating systems
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
Familiarity with Adobe Premier, In-Design, as well as PTGui, Photo-Mechanic and Capture One would be desirable.

Anticipated hours: 40 hours/week during Summer break; Approx. 20 hours/week during school year
US Citizenship is required for all Board internships and applicants must be current students, graduating from their program fall 2022 or later.
