Fairview® Investment Services is seeking a part time legal assistant to join our legal team. Responsibilities and Duties:
· Assist with Internal Policies and Procedures and assist with facilitating Compliance:
o Assist with making minor changes to policies and procedures based on guidance from counsel.
o Update the firm’s business continuity and network security policy
o Track deadlines and compliance requirements to assist the firm in complying with its internal policies and procedures
o Assist with documenting testing of internal policies and procedures
· Vendor Due Diligence
o Coordinate vendor due diligence reviews and summarize information received to be reviewed by the Vendor Due Diligence Committee
o Assist with conducting initial due diligence review on new vendors
o Assist with maintaining and organizing annual review files
o Maintain the firm’s approved vendor list
o Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices upon request
o Help track and prepare training materials for annual trainings required by the company’s policies and procedures
o Schedule and prepare agendas for committee meetings, sales meetings, and other meetings upon request
o Track regular filings and notice requirements
o Help maintain records of legal entities and corporate filings
o Draft responses to due diligence requests for clients and vendors
o Coordinate travel upon request
o Other duties assigned, including various administrative tasks
o Reviews and supports General Counsel in response to regulatory requests
o Participate in a wide variety of projects within and outside the office of the General Counsel
· Four year undergraduate degree preferred
· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Desire and willingness to expand scope of responsibilities and expertise based on business needs
· Excellent overall computer and legal research skills (i.e., Westlaw) as well as proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.
· Ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels
