Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Public Health is the lead agency entrusted by the people of the state of Georgia with the ultimate responsibility for the health of communities and the entire population. The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Director for Clinical Quality Improvement within the Office of Nursing.
This position provides state-wide leadership and technical assistance to assure quality clinical service provision at all public health locations.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops and manages the QA/QI processes for nursing practice in public health programs and services.
- Develops district standards for QA/QI operations in the clinical setting (QA/QI Manual) to include site audits and auditing processes for public health nurses.
- Develops and leads the QA/QI statewide workgroup to establish improvement goals and assure efficient and effective processes are in in place.
- Organizes and applies principles of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to the processes used in evaluating Registered Professional Nurse practice under nurse protocol.
- Serves as faculty member for the Office of Nursing’s Health Assessment course for new public health nurses.
- Works collaboratively with DPH program managers and nurse consultants to ensure QA/QI requirements for public health nursing practice align with program requirements and needs.
- Works collaboratively with Office of Nursing staff on emergency preparedness and response efforts.
- Responds to public health emergencies when indicated.
- Participate in the quarterly DPH CLIA and 340B Workgroup meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate or Master’s degree in Nursing, Public Health or related field from an accredited college or university AND Eight years of professional nursing management/supervisory experience AND Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in public health
- Experience in nursing education and training
- Certification and licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
