The Office of Integrative Learning and Life Design wants to congratulate this year’s PURA Recipients!
PURA is the Provost’s Undergraduate Research Award. Provost Joseph Cooper (1991-1995) established the PURA program in 1993 with a generous endowment by the Hodson Trust. The program was created to support and encourage Hopkins undergraduate students to engage in independent research, scholarly and creative projects. The award is an endowment of $3,000 per student and provides undergraduates from any division Johns Hopkins University with a fellowship to conduct independent research, design, entrepreneurship, scholarly, and creative projects over the academic year. The list of this year’s cohort and their award-winning projects can be found here Ruchit Patel, class of ’20, is a PURA recipient from the ’17-’18 cohort. He describes how his Neuroscience major was the foundation for his interest and research into his project, “Sustainability of an Early Mobilization Program for Critically Ill Children.”
